Shockingly Twisting and Twisted

Emily is on a crusade to advance the cause of women’s rights. She writes a controversial and incendiary blog called The Radical Feminist where she challenges the male power structure that has oppressed generations of women, tackling issues of equal pay, reproductive rights, and the pervasive culture of rape. Every day she receives dozens of death and rape threats. She has learned to ignore them as little more than the impotent tantrums of weak men, terrified of losing their place of privilege and power … Until one night they show up on her doorstep. Boy’s Night

Content Review

Extreme Horror warning:  This is extreme horror.  The content is graphic.  The story is graphic.  The action is graphic.  The violence is graphic.  It is all graphic. Don’t read it and then complain about it being graphic.

First, a bit of back story on the dual cover images.  I was given to understand that the original cover was rejected by the powers that be, aka Amazon.  To facilitate the release, the authors went with the black cover design that is often used by Matt Shaw on extreme horror books.  My opinion on the black covers:  ominous! But I still love the original cover too.

Moving on, Wrath James White and Matt Shaw are both very well known as masters of the Extreme Horror subgenre, although they have very different styles.  When I first heard of this as an upcoming project, I could not imagine how these two styles would blend.  But blend they did.  Into a bloody nail-biter of a horror ride.

Boys’ Night is fast paced and in-your-face.  The content is presented in a very graphic fashion, but it is not just gratuitous. This is the collision of the extreme feminist and the criminally abusive.  The characters are almost surprisingly well fleshed out individuals who continue to develop during the story. The action is frighteningly detailed and depraved and the whole story moves at a suspense filled pace much like speeding down a dark back road in a pony car knowing something is going to run out in front of you at some point.

So, technical excellence aside, let me say about the story itself that it is just wonderfully twisted.  And then it twists some more with a shocking and sickening subplot reveal.  This one is going to hurt your brain and tighten your body.  So, if you’re into that, enjoy!

About the Author: Matt Shaw

MATT SHAW is the published author of over 120 stories. Although known as being a horror author, he also enjoys spending time in other genres too – something he had always planned to do in order to have at least one book, in a wide collection, which would appeal to people from all walks of life. Shaw was first published in 2004 with his horror novel Happy Ever After – the first of his books to reach the number one slot on Amazon and the first of his books to use his trademark style of narrating the stories through the first person perspective. An extremely prolific writer, Matt Shaw is continually writing as well as keeping up to date with his readers via his (some might say) crazy Author Page on Facebook.
