May Cause Nightmares!

Synopsis Blurb

SHE RETURNED FROM HER CELL TO GIVE THEM HELL!

When a rotting corpse suddenly appears and starts butchering Raynham’s youths, there’s really only one question that needs answering:

Is this faceless and rotting monster Peter Howard, or isn’t it?

Problem is, Peter Howard died 15 years ago. So how can he possibly be back from the dead and murdering people with such relentless and sadistic brutality?

Peter’s mother Malicia, who’s just been released from the lunatic asylum, may have the answers to the crazy puzzle, but the two detectives investigating the deaths don’t even know the right questions to ask her yet.

Mr. Ugly: It really doesn’t matter if you lock your doors; you simply aren’t safe anymore.

Content Review

This book straight up gave me nightmares.  I’m not even kidding.  I read this over the course of two days and had nightmares from this book both nights.  I could have read it in one day, the story is that compelling, but as the day waned to evening, I grew concerned about how I would sleep if I read into the night.  It was too late, though.  This book grabs hold of your psyche without mercy.

Once again, Wol-vriey has given us a novel of flowing horror woven from vivid characters and frightening evils.  The subject matter and politely graphic presentation put this in the realm of extreme horror.  It is not for the easily offended or disturbed.  This shelf-worthy, compelling tale is for the daring reader who appreciates the pushing of boundaries in horror literature.

I find it difficult to properly review Mr. Ugly without spoilers; and I abhor spoilers. The back stories and subplots are integrated flawlessly and did not disrupt the flow of the story for me at all.  The characters are entertaining and believable.  The evil is plausibly presented and mercilessly wraps itself around your mind.  While there were a few places where the wording may have been more formal than I would find necessary, that is to be ignored as cultural.  It does not affect the story, just my OCD.

I highly recommend Mr. Ugly.  The title is an oversimplification of the story within.
