The powerful prose of Michael Allen Rose. The brilliant artwork of Jim Agpalza. The Last 5 Minutes of the Human Race is intense and provocative and so very dark and impactful.
It is difficult to do justice to this deep and blatant look at humanity and society, our present, our future, and all the horrifying and realistic ways we might end, the ways we drive our own end.
Some of these are dark and moving, like “L is for Life.” Some are disturbing and wrenching, like “B is for Baby.” And others are evocatively horrifying, like “N is for Nyotaimori.” And each compelling piece is accentuated and magnified by an equally compelling artistic rendering.

About the Author: Michael Allen Rose
Michael Allen Rose is an award-winning author, musician, and performer based in Chicago, IL. He is the host of BizarroCon’s Ultimate Bizarro Showdown, and releases industrial music under the pseudonym Flood Damage. His book Jurassichrist won the Wonderland Award for best bizarro novel of 2021, and many of his short stories have been published in such publications as Mighty In Sorrow, Bizarro Bizarro, The Magazine of Bizarro Fiction, and Kizuna: Fiction for Japan. He has been seen on stage at Chicago’s famed Second City where he spent a year studying at the conservatory. Originally from the frozen wastes of North Dakota, Michael’s plays have been produced in New York, Chicago, Portland, and other major cities. He loves cats and tea.

About the Artist: Jim Agpalza
Raised on an island in the Pacific Ocean, Jim Agpalza now lives outside Portland, Oregon, where he works as a freelance illustrator, cover artist, character designer, and storyboard artist. His work has appeared in a multitude of formats, including cartoons, books, slot machines, comics, and t-shirts. Jim is the co-creator of the animated show Spacefish, the novel Fantastic Earth Destroyer Ultra Plus, and the comic book Crusader of Sin.
